Onnion is just a few kilometres drive up the mountain from St Jeoire. St Jeoire is a small town with all of the shops, hotels, bars, supermarkets, banks, petrol stations, post office, tourist information, bus services, and eveything else that you might need.

Further up the mountain there are the cross country and alpine ski areas of Plaine Joux and Les Brasses. In the summer these are very popular with mountain bikers, walkers and road cyclists.

The large towns of Annemasse, close to Geneva, and Cluses, on the way to Chamonix, can be easily reached by car within 16-20 min. Annemasse and Geneva have all of the shopping that anyone can manage ! The lake at Geneva is also a popular tourist attraction. Cluses is also popular, with plenty of Hotels, bars, restaurants, hypermarkets and sports facilities.
